Friends
MCCompanion has a social layer: add other players as friends and see when they are online.
:::info Direct messages are gone The app used to have a chat between friends. That is removed. Everything else on this page still works, and reporting still works: see Reporting someone. :::
Adding friends
- Go to Profile → Friends or use Player Lookup to find a user
- Tap Add friend on their profile
- They will receive a friend request notification
- Once they accept, they appear in your friends list
Friend requests
- Incoming requests appear under Friends → Requests
- Tap Accept to confirm or Decline to ignore
- Declined requests are not shown to the sender
Online status
Friends who are currently active in the app show a green indicator on their avatar. You can hide your own status by enabling Appear offline in your profile settings.
Blocking users
- Go to their profile
- Tap Block
- They can no longer send you friend requests, and you will not appear in their searches
Blocked users can be managed under Profile → Blocked users.
Reporting someone
You can report a person from their profile, and you can report anything they posted from the thing itself: a skin, a resource pack or a comment.
- Open the user's profile, or the skin, pack or comment you want to report
- Tap Report
- Select a reason: Spam, Harassment, Inappropriate content, or Other
- Optionally add extra context and submit
Reports are reviewed by MCCompanion moderators. You get a ticket number, and you can follow the report and reply to us under Profile → Your reports. Repeated violations can result in losing the ability to post comments and skins, or a full account ban.
Removing a friend
Go to your Friends list, tap the friend, and select Remove friend. This removes them from both sides without sending a notification.
