Friends & Chat

MCCompanion has a built-in social layer: add other players as friends, see when they are online, and chat directly inside the app.

Adding friends

  1. Go to Profile → Friends or use Player Lookup to find a user
  2. Tap Add friend on their profile
  3. They will receive a friend request notification
  4. Once they accept, they appear in your friends list

Friend requests

  • Incoming requests appear under Friends → Requests
  • Tap Accept to confirm or Decline to ignore
  • Declined requests are not shown to the sender

Online status

Friends who are currently active in the app show a green indicator on their avatar. You can hide your own status by enabling Appear offline in your profile settings.

Chat

You can send direct messages to any of your friends:

  1. Open your Friends list and tap a friend
  2. Tap Message to open the conversation
  3. Type your message and tap Send

Messages are delivered in real time. You will receive a push notification when you get a new message (if notifications are enabled).

info

Chat is only available between mutual friends. Both sides must have accepted the friend request before messaging is possible.

Blocking users

  1. Go to their profile
  2. Tap Block
  3. They can no longer send you friend requests or messages, and you will not appear in their searches

Blocked users can be managed under Profile → Blocked users.

Reporting users

  1. Open the user's profile or a message from them
  2. Tap Report
  3. Select a reason: Spam, Harassment, Inappropriate content, or Other
  4. Optionally add extra context and submit

Reports are reviewed by MCCompanion moderators. Repeated violations can result in chat restrictions or a full account ban.

Removing a friend

Go to your Friends list, tap the friend, and select Remove friend. This removes them from both sides without sending a notification.
