Friends & Chat
MCCompanion has a built-in social layer: add other players as friends, see when they are online, and chat directly inside the app.
Adding friends
- Go to Profile → Friends or use Player Lookup to find a user
- Tap Add friend on their profile
- They will receive a friend request notification
- Once they accept, they appear in your friends list
Friend requests
- Incoming requests appear under Friends → Requests
- Tap Accept to confirm or Decline to ignore
- Declined requests are not shown to the sender
Online status
Friends who are currently active in the app show a green indicator on their avatar. You can hide your own status by enabling Appear offline in your profile settings.
Chat
You can send direct messages to any of your friends:
- Open your Friends list and tap a friend
- Tap Message to open the conversation
- Type your message and tap Send
Messages are delivered in real time. You will receive a push notification when you get a new message (if notifications are enabled).
Chat is only available between mutual friends. Both sides must have accepted the friend request before messaging is possible.
Blocking users
- Go to their profile
- Tap Block
- They can no longer send you friend requests or messages, and you will not appear in their searches
Blocked users can be managed under Profile → Blocked users.
Reporting users
- Open the user's profile or a message from them
- Tap Report
- Select a reason: Spam, Harassment, Inappropriate content, or Other
- Optionally add extra context and submit
Reports are reviewed by MCCompanion moderators. Repeated violations can result in chat restrictions or a full account ban.
Removing a friend
Go to your Friends list, tap the friend, and select Remove friend. This removes them from both sides without sending a notification.
