Friends Mode Not Working

Friends mode can be a bit finicky here's what to check if your friends can't see or join the session.

Checklist​

1. Is the MCCompanion friend account added and accepted? On your console, make sure the MCCompanion account is in your friends list and the request is accepted not just pending.

2. Have you refreshed the Friends/LAN tab? After enabling Friends mode, go into Minecraft and manually refresh the Friends or LAN Worlds tab. It won't always update on its own.

Quick fixes​

  • Restart the game Close Minecraft completely, then reopen it and enable Friends mode again before loading in
  • Re-check the friend request If the MCCompanion account was removed or the request expired, readd it and try again

Still not showing up?​

Enable Debug Mode in the MCCompanion app and check the logs. It'll usually tell you exactly what's failing whether it's an account issue, a MCCompanion issue, or something else.
